- Description
Hoya australis ‘teddy bear’ is a very adaptable hoya and in the wild grows in both very dry and very wet conditions. It has many different growth and leaf forms, which are typically treated as sub-species. Sub-species of Hoya australis include australis, tenuipes, sana, rupicola, oramicola, nathalieae, melanesica, power puff and teddy bear. It is one of the more difficult-to-find subspecies of the H. Australis.
Hoya australis grows quickly with a nice lush leaf form. It is relatively easy to flower and retains a soft spot in many collector’s collections because it is often one of first hoyas that they have successfully flowered.
